Here is an article from Field and Stream about a Kansas buck that survived two months with the severed head of another buck locked in his antlers.

Pretty amazing that the buck survived.

It's crazy how this happens, I'm about to begin a story for my buddy's uncle where the same thing happened, though it wasn't 2 months long. This happened in Harris county Georgia and both bucks grossed over 140

Several years ago, me and my buddies unlocked two bucks. The one being carried around had to have been dead for several weeks. Half of its body was already missing while the rest was decaying. It was an event I will never forget. I hope the surviving buck lived to see many more days. Both deer were in the mid 130's.
