Colorado DIY Elk Trip.....Bull Down

Post by BPowell » Mon Oct 31, 2016 10:14 am

Back from our yearly DIY public land elk hunt in SW Colorado. It was a tough year for us but still always a lot of fun. Was able to kill this bull toward the end of the season. He's small but I'll take it, especially on a year like this one was. There was very little bugling and the ones that did bugle would be just a couple of times early then they would go quiet. The ones that did come in to us came in silent. We did get into them a couple days where they were bugling good but just couldn't close the deal on them. The one I killed came into our calls within 2 minutes after we started calling. Always a fun trip.
