Whoops!...Not paying attention,...too many places to go on this site!

Our season in New Mexico always opens on April 15th and runs until May 10th,...assuming that there is not a season closure due to fire danger in our National Forests where most of our turkeys reside. I was up at our place in the Lincoln NF yesterday and we had about fifty birds hanging out at the feeder we set up to entertain ourselves before the season starts. Problem is, none of them were mature gobblers,...about forty hens and ten jakes. The big boys will surely start showing up in another week or so, though.

I will actually start my season in another ten days when a bunch of us head to Texas for about three days of hunting, and then head on up to Oklahoma for their opener on April 6th. Both hunts are for Rios. If I don't manage to put down three or more birds in all my hunts, then I will be a no-huntin' son of a gun.

I am assuming the rest of the team has already started hunting,...or is about to start?
