Browning Maxus
Pure Gold
Not bad. Half sheet posted board. I'll measure the 10 later. Killed the little volunteer pine it was leaned on. Still dont trust lead penetration past 40-45.

It seems like if pellets from the 3" Winchester Longbeard #5s get better penetration than standard 3" #5s, then more energy is retained at greater distances with Longbeards. Could you step down to 3" Longbeard #6s and expect to get better patterns, along with getting an increased penetration similar to shooting standard lead #5s? There is less mass to #6s, so they lose energy a bit faster. On the other hand, there is less resistance to a #6 passing through the target because it is smaller diameter than #5s. It would take some testing, but it would be interesting to find out the ballistic coefficient of each and learn what performance to expect between ammo types and shot sizes.

Hevi shot pretty much has me where they want me too. I've still never seen anything stomp a turkey like that stuff does.

I don't blame you. Even with the price of Hevishot nowadays, shells are one of the least expensive parts of the equation.

The first part of this video is pretty interesting comparing Double X versus Longbeard XR. Clear difference.
